As a food reviewer, I had the pleasure of sampling some of the dishes at Halsey’s and was impressed by the flavors and presentation. The buffalo mac and cheese balls were a standout, combining creamy mac and cheese with a spicy buffalo kick. The hot honey chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful, while the short rib sliders were tender and savory.

Kerry and Sarah are my favorites, but to be honest, the entire staff is stellar. I live close by and I come in regularly. Regardless of the time of day or day of the week, I’m greeted with warmth and presented with amazing cocktails. The chicken avocado bowl is my favorite, but you can’t go wrong with any menu item. I think the mac and cheese is amazing too, but they know that because it’s listed on the menu twice. (Bottomless brunch is a best kept secret of Astoria... shhhhhh)
Came for trivia night, had a blast. Returned for a quick bite and a drink ... 10/10. Amazing. Sooooo gooood. I ordered a mocktail and it was amazing. Service was great too! Carey was bartending and taking care of tables, still killed it. Seriously, 10/10.
The food was delicious! The service was good. Everything was done timely. Was here for a brunch with friends and the atmosphere was very good. Would recommend for brunch
It's a very nice neighborhood bar with some good cocktail and mocktail selection, we also got the spice bag and the beet salad that we really enjoyed.
Great and fast service. Food tastes great and had a nice presentation, even down to lemons I requested for my tea. The drinks were great & lots of good options, especially non-alcoholic drinks. They just didn't have certain food choices, but we went in the middle of the week on a Wednesday. I'm not sure if that matters!
Originally went to try Mom’s Kitchen and Bar where the wait time was too long so we decided to try Halsey’s next door. Turns out they are affiliated and share a kitchen which meant we have their menu as well. On Sundays seating is tough due to brunch but we got outdoors seating right away which was great. There are heaters and curtains to block out random people walking on the sidewalk which was great. I had the bottomless brunch and chose mimosas which were regular. The Mac and cheese balls , chicken and waffles and avocado toast were all delicious items. Actually I have to say you MUST try the chicken and waffles, the gravy is amazing and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. The waiter was very friendly and attentive and checked in with us regularly. If you are coming for brunch be prepared because the brunch menu is limited. We tried to get the cheese steak empanadas but was told they start serving that after 4pm. Overall, a wonderful, delicious restaurant in Astoria for traditional brunch dishes. I definitely recommend and will be visiting again just for the chicken and waffles, OMG.
Britney and Blaithin are some of the best Servers in all of Astoria! Great service, fantastic food, and drinks. Always recommend this place to anyone visiting. Cheers!
I wrote a review for Mom's Kitchen, but it was basically for Halsey's, since both times we ended up being seated here. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The Pancake Burrito and grits seem to be my go-to. I'll try something different next time. Maybe. The place is a little small, but it's not uncomfortable. I highly recommend eating here.
